One of the reasons I love what I do… I get to feel the love people share, they get to feel free to share with me… seeing them almost become oblivious to my presense..
Tonight I am sharing last nights beautiful session with Joelle & Tim, they will be wed in August.

Today was spent learning with other photographers in the area from a photographer from outside our area. We had some classroom time this morning… as he shared how he reaches his clients, works with them in marketing, and selling his products, the afternoon was spent shooting… we had a bride, groom models and although the concepts simple.. the process of being out and working with my peers… it sparks the mind to see where I want to go with my images this year… The shots that follow are from todays shooting… ..looking forward to tomorrows engagement session and to applying the self imposed challenge of something unique in each session & wedding this year…

What an awesome day! There were more opportunities for unique images! Thats our mission this year to find something different in each wedding and capture it.
Accents Wedding and Events Planning and rentals created the backdrop for the Wedding and it made a fabulous background for the bridal portraits

WOW-Entertainment brought the fun for the reception at CJ Calloways where laura and Matt Led the Dancing

Afterthe Father/Daughter and mother/Son Dances the Kappa Alpha Theta serenaded Matt and then Matt and Laura together

After which Phi Delta Theta bowed down to the Lovely laura singing Brown eyed girl before wisking her away ……

With the forecast all over the place.. we decided to keep most of the shots indoors.. Cindy had a beautiful bridal gown, the day went smooth.. some of our time was tightened up by the church trimming a precious 15 minutes more than we had planned prior to the ceremony… I have to admit I have never seen a chauffeur pull the wedding party feet first out of a limo… everyone was having a blast… after dinner I went out to get my lights to set up for family shots we needed to get… an the wind had calmed… we could finally go outdoors…

What is?
What will?
Today I ponder past, Present and future with “what”.

What happened?
Do I go back to my beginnings? The home where convention and counter culture clashed?
To the years where I was introduced to experimental threapy treating what is now commonly known as ADHD?
My lost years of self ceteredness and self medication?
The rebirth of life, finding my way after the lost years. Tunneling out of the dark, finding friends along the way, and discovering my vocation.

What is?
Today I feel as though at a crossroads.
Professionally looking for my niche, having experienced many aspects of my field.
Personally struggling to unite my dreams and my heart… Extracting the mindset which distracts me from both.
Seeing that instant gratification runs counter to what I really want, for myself, my family and my aspirations.
I am separating fantasy and daydreams from my real dreams and goals for my life, my family and my business.
Re-evaluating myself in all these areas, connecting with friends on a similar quest in their own life, working with family to patch our foundation (figuratively) and prpare for new chapters in life..
Granted my little ditty isn’t very eloquent I am not trying to be… just sketching out glimpse… maybe more specific later.
By the way.. Happy Mothers day o any and all mothers today… what you do is so incredible, may your day be blessed and your efforts acknowledged in measure with your sacrifice.

I find myself spreading through the community trying to network with many people for many reasons.

Professionally I try to network with people from all walks of life, in all proffessions. I seek out other business owners and managers, sales people, crafts and drafts.

I meet weekly with an amazing group launching the 5th chapter in Sioux Falls for BNI (Business Network International) Details for BNI can be found at www.bni.com.
One of my star clients welcomed me to join her new group last spring. Since then our group has grown to include Home Federal Bank, Town & Country Realtors, Commercial One Insurance, Karls TV, Northwestern Mutual, All Star Auto Glass, Genesis Assesments, Bowden Productions, Handyman Matters, Keystone Morgtage, Team Logic, Techno It Solutions,  Redwood Wireless and more.  Of course Hauschildt’s Photography .
I also network for RX Magazine who they are growing and looking for advertisers and advertising sales.. Check with them to see if your company is right for their Magazine.

Seems like this has been the year of change…  The start of the year my neighbors house was on fire… I did what I could…  He is home and seems to be doing well… One of our pet.. “Teddy” passed on… he needed relief as he had no quality of life any more ..  He was 13 yrs old and had been with us 12 and a half of those years.

My studio business is growing in leaps and bounds… making new friends in business has helps and old ones have come back with new offers… I am currently working with 3 publications and looking at a 4th….

We are unleashing a new approach to High School Seniors.. and we are marketing it in different ways than everyone else…

so far we have chosen to not do direct mail.. instead we will be visiting many towns and cities surrounding Sioux Falls by up to 200 miles…

These Senior portrait parties will set a new standard … alow peopel the opportunity to choose  their photogrpher and even their portraits before opening the check book.

Personally I am making big changes too… and in respect for those involved I am keeping much of that to more private diaries than this.

Got idea’s? I would love to hear them… I want to look outside the box.. break away from the pack… do things different, in marketing and in my sessions…

We were so busy last month that we are just now getting back to blogging.

2 wedding shows and a weekend trade show. (The Big Boy Toy Show).

The wedding shows were awesome. There are a lot of fall weddings this year…August, Sept and Oct brides will be competing fiercely for their DJ’s, Reception Halls, Churches and of course for their photographers..

The Big Boy Toy Show was fantastic! we were able to recruit 12 beautiful models to help us with the KRRO Coors Light Mancave. We also had 2 hours of photos with a couple of the Vikings Cheerleaders. Have I ever told you … I LOVE MY JOB!!

We also had several photo shoots with gorgeous ladies for RX Magazine… watch for them in upcoming issues Valerie, Sandra, Ashley & Shelease . Tomorrow we will be working with Emilee, another sexy, pretty lady.
